Happy Birthday, Colin!

I may not have much of a memory left after pregnancy and now mommy brain has set in, but I certainly do remember where I was 5 years ago today. I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of this little guy:

He was, and continues to be, the perfect little boy.  Sure he has his moments but don't we all?  He is the most kind, thoughtful, smart, charming, handsome, and inquisitive little boy ever. 

He plays hard but he loves harder. 

He loves to tell jokes and follows them up with, "Was that funny? Do you think Daddy will think that's funny?"

He has a way of melting my heart with his out-of-the-blue love pats, hugs, and kisses.  He notices things a 5-year old would never see and gives the best compliments and is completely sincere with each one.

He is the best big brother a sibling could ever ask for.  He is very protective as the older brother and is constantly watching over his little brother.  He loves to teach him new things and point out new vocabulary, like the word "scurry" that he allegedly said this weekend. 

He's becoming quite the artist and could spend hours coloring and creating crafts.  He has a love for music and recalls lyrics after only hearing them once.  "I just met you, call me maybe," "Hey, I heard you were a wild one.  Ooohhhoo,"  and sadly thanks one of his new friends at a Christian school, "I'm sexy and I know it."

What a wonderful 5 years I've been blessed with.  Yes it has flown by.  Yes these pictures have made me tear up and realize just how quickly it has gone.  But I also look forward to many more years spent with my special Colin.  I love you, Bubby!
