"Pete's" New Digs

It's been a while since I asked for your help/advice on a wall color for Little Boy Blue's room.  The majority said khaki and while that's what I intended to go with, that's not what I got.  I told you I wasn't good at picking out paint colors!  I was afraid I'd pick something too dark, so instead I end up picking something too light.  It turned out to be more in the white/cream family but at least it's neutral and not pink, as it was before.

The bare walls meant I needed to add lots of pops of color to avoid a hospital-like setting.  Here are a few pictures of the semi-finished product.  I still need to add some things to the walls but I plan to use some of his birth pictures for that.

This is the artwork I made to liven up this wall.  You can also see the reflection of the blue bedding on the twin bed.  Nothing like going from an all pink room to an all blue one!  Boys, boys everywhere!

  1. Danielle, it looks great! I can hardly believe that was the pink room before! I really like the valances and the artwork you made - I swear, I wish I had one ounce of your craftiness!

  4. How cute! Those canvases you created are so neat! They go so well with the room, and your wall color looks great. It's not too dark and the perfect neutral. Glad it's all coming together, and way to be on top of everything, well before the baby arrives. :)

  5. VERY CUTE!!!! I had the same problem with Lauren's room. The nursery used to be a buttery yellow which I was just tired of looking at and since I didn't want to go pink or purple, I decided on "candlelight ivory" ... ie cream. I found the SAME thing - that I had to keep adding in color to make it look less clinical. It wall worked out though because I LOVE her room now and it's just the accessories that need updating as she gets older!

  7. I dig the digs. I don't have a lot of stuff on the walls in Sam's room, either. I'm so indecisive! I'll probaby hang a family portrait up or something, but I can't make up my mind.
