To say Colin enjoyed it would be an understatement. He wanted to list the animals we saw and repeat them over and over. Note: this is really no different than anything else but here we actually had a list of things we could create...and recreate! After a rough day of wagon riding, eating, petting, and walking, this little guy was tuckered out. Within 10 minutes of riding in the car, he was out like a light.
And some of this...
We told him we'd have to go back some time and he said, "No. I want to go with Pete, not Mommy and Daddy." And remind me again why I was concerned about Colin adapting to the new baby? Looks like I should have been worried about being completely displaced by him! I can only imagine what they'll be staging against me.
Here are a few pictures from the zoo. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend the Cincinnati Zoo. They are not only known for their wildlife, they have an incredible botanical presence as well. Therefore, most of the zoo is shaded with lush vegetation, making any temperature almost bearable. Now if I can just figure out a way to get past the odors, the zoo would be nearly perfect.
And my personal favorite, Jomo.
And we can't forget Wes' favorite, the monkeys. These weren't the action (i.e. poop throwing) kind of monkeys that he prefers but they sufficed.
Then the most brazen of the animals were the peacocks. Seriously, these things rule the zoo. At lunch, they practically ate our sandwiches out of hands and when I attempted to shoo them away they looked at me as if I was crazy. They also squawked like maniacs. Although pretty, I was not a fan.
Lastly, the infamous train ride. The end all be all to Colin Reid. It gave me a lovely glimpse into our future vacations at Disney or Kings Island waiting in the treacherous lines! And then all that waiting for a 2 minute ride. Yet another lesson in patience for me.
Wow! Such great pics. I'm so glad y'all had a fun time. I'm still dying to get W down to the zoo sometime soon, before it gets too hot to enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if all zoos have the same train...? We were at the SB zoo on Wednesday and rode the train, too, except ours was blue :)
ReplyDeleteHow many weeks do you have left? You should post a belly pic soon!!
How fun! I loved the zoo when I was a kid. We're thinking about taking my sister's kids for the day when she has the baby this summer. The boys would probably enjoy a baseball game more...we'll see.
ReplyDeleteyayyyyyy! this is awesome family time!
ReplyDeleteSo adorable. We took the dude to Disney this weekend. He rocked a ringer too!
ReplyDeletePierce LOVES Lauren so I wouldn't worry about Colin & Pete! I think they start getting jealous once they have to share!! What a fun time! I did the "fun things before the baby comes" too - it's sweet!
